This collection contains pension application cards from the United States, between the years 1861 and 1934. These records document pension claims filed by veterans of the United States Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, and their widows and children. The majority of records pertain to the Civil War. Records typically include the name of the veteran, the date and place of death, the name of the spouse, the name of the child, the application, and certificate number and the date and place where the pension application was filed. Many entries also include the enlistment date, discharge date, and the veteran's rank.
