I have mentioned in a previous message to "support" about the difficulty in determining which individual to select when tagging a photo when in Albums, when there are many with the same name i.e., I have many Charles and William LAWSON's in my tree. The suggestion was to include a birth date with each individual in the list. This hasn't happened yet when working in Albums, but the list does appear with dates when working in Tagging but I cannot select the person in the pop up list. It just won't highlight when you click, double click or even swear at it ! Is anyone else having this problem? I hope that it doesn't take months to resolve this issue. I am reluctant to involve other family members with this site until some basic problems are fixed. Response times from support are much too long and in the long run it may be better for me to set up my own hosted site.
I mispelled my mothers middle name and entered a wrong birth date when I originally published to the website. I republished after correcting it in Family Tree Builder, but the website is still showing the wrong info in her profile. How do I fix this?
I'm trying to invite a relative to the Family site and Heritage is not allowing me to do so, claiming her Hotmail address is not valid. It certainly is. It's a little unique; but valid...
In order to investigate the cause for this problem, please send me the email address of the relative you are trying to invite. My email address is: yehuda [at] myheritage [dot] com.
I am using the toolbar for My heritage but just a few points.
the "my inbox" feature has a message in it but when I go there there is not.
I have logged off and logged in and it wont go away.
Also when my wife logs on there is a "chat feature" there but when I do, there isnt.
also the password entry on the toolbar does not save password as firefox does so I have to log on to the site through the firefox toolbar. Or does it and I have not found the way to do it?
I hope you are enjoying MyHeritage, other than these toolbar issues...
It might be a coincidence but you remind me a bit of Van Damme in that outfit...
Anyway, on to business.
If the toolbar says you have a message, but you don't, it is probably because the toolbar received a stale instruction file from the server (produced when you really had one unread message to read). This situation cures itself in a few hours usually, and can be ignored. You can also click the MyHeritage logo in the toolbar and choose 'Reload' and this may cause this incorrect status to go away. Rest assured that the toolbar doesn't know something you don't know.
The chat feature is available when there is at least one family member online to chat with. Are you and your wife using the same computer? If so, this is a bit unreliable because one of you might log on, then the other might log on and the toolbar could think that you can chat with each ther, but not really because only one of you is really online. Therefore it may transpire that the toolbar on your wife's computer will see you and offer chat, while your toolbar won't because your wife is no longer online.
If you two are on two computers, then you should be able to chat with each other.
I didn't understand the problem with the password, please describe it again in more detail.
Cheers,
